Auberge du Pont de Collonges, Michelin Three Stars

(Brian)

Auberge du Pont de Colognes is Chef Paul Bocuse flagship 3 star Michelin restaurant.

We thought it was in down town Lyon but it was actually a $30.00 euro cab ride out side of the city along the river Saone.

Love the gargoyle.

So the bronze floor heading in the front door list the names of the gold, silver and bronze winners of the Bocuse D'Or, the most difficult cooking competition in the world. The first American to win was in 2014, it started in 1987.

She hid a special dress in her suitcase to surprise me with for our anniversary, the scarf I bought her in Paris matched it perfectly, Two Fat Cat bliss, what a night!

They put us in the Ferdinand Pont room, you would have to be foodie geek like me to fully understand what that meant, his pictures (the black and whites behind Yvonne) were all around the room and I knew where most of them came from, Ferdinand is credited with breaking the bonds of classical French cuisine, Chef Bocuse studied under Chef Pont at Le Pyramid, a legendary restaurant from the 1950's that was sought out by the rich and famous from all over the world. I have read his cook book Le Gastronomes, which is unique in the fact that he gives no quantities, only the ingredients, he feels that each person cooks to their own skill set and ability and you should know how much to use based on what you are making. For me this set the stage for an unbelievable evening, that and my wife dress of course!!

He even had his own china!
