Where did we go?

(Yvonne) So yesterday jet lag hit us like a brick wall. Oh, don't get me wrong- we ran around like maniacs and saw and did enough for 3 people. But when it came to writing and posting on the blog, we were face down at 8:30. Pretty romantic, huh? And very French. Anyways, here's how it played out:

We were supposed to visit Versailles yesterday morning- so, up at 6, shower, eat, in the lobby ay 7:50 for an 8:00 pick up. No show!! Now, since we've already had one no show ( a wine and cheese tasting) we're not too happy. On the phone and e-mail with the travel agent. She gets it worked out, we'll go to Versailles this afternoon. So what to do this morning? Um, hello, Paris? SHOPPING!!!! But not the kind you're thinking of. We went to the best culinary supply store in the 1st Arrondissement to just "check it out". Yes, thank you Food Network and Anthony Bourdain for the tip. Fun! Got back, and  then to Versailles. This place invented the term conspicuous consumption. No wonder the peasants beheaded them. Absolutely incredible, there are no words. It's just..... over the friggin top. Pictures attached. And then dinner at a restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. Ri-di-cu-lously good. Amazing in fact. Pictures attached.

Today, we got up and went to Musee D'Orsay (the impressionist museum) hands down my favorite part of the trip so far, Besides the artwork, the building was amazing. The guide- so knowledgeable. I learned an amazing amount. Then this afternoon- Giverny- Monet's home. It tied so nicely in with the museum trip this morning. Beyond gorgeous. Pictures attached.

Tomorrow, Montmartre walking tour in the morning, Eiffel tower in the afternoon. Keep you posted!
